On July 4th in the year 1776 the thirteen American colonies declared their independence from Great Britain. That date is forever enshrined in our culture as Independence Day. America’s Birthday, as it is often referred to, is one of the largest celebrations of the year in the United States and is rightfully legendary for its fireworks displays… especially here in New York.
Among the celebrations across communities large and small, The Macy’s Fireworks Spectacular is considered one of the most epic displays in the nation and this year it’s celebrating its 47th anniversary. And there’s no better place to watch the fireworks than on a fireworks cruise.
If you’re considering a 4th of July cruise, the Skyline Princess has the best seats in the house for this internationally renowned display!
An Experience You’ll Never Forget!
Envision dining out on the East River with the Chrysler Building, One WTC (formerly the Freedom Tower), and the Empire State Building rising before you in all their iconic glory. Further along the river the fireworks begin to launch from their barges – filling the sky above with light and spectacular designs as you take in the full panorama from one of our three all-weather decks.
We use a modified sailing route for this cruise to provide the best view of the festivities. For those taking selfies or shooting video, this is an embarrassment of riches.
Not only does our cruise provide you with an unbeatable view of the fireworks, but it also allows you to escape the crowds. Unlike viewing them from the streets (and most landlocked venues), you’ll have elbow room while you enjoy your evening.
Excellent Amenities
No celebration is complete without food. Our expert chefs will keep your palate happy with a delectable array of choices served buffet style.
The delightful culinary experience is only the beginning. The Skyline Princess gives you a variety of options for viewing the festivities. Three all-weather decks offer exquisite views of NYC’s famous landmarks, historic skyline, and stunning architecture. All of these iconic structures make magnificent backgrounds for snapshots even without the added glory of the colorful explosions in the sky above.
In addition, a fully climate-controlled cabin allows magnificent views combined with indoor comfort. For those who wish to dance the night away as the fireworks burst overhead, just visit our rooftop deck and its enclosed dance floor where our DJ will provide all the hottest music. With all of this, it’s easy to see why our 4th of July cruise sells out every year!
