There’s a reason why they call it the city that doesn’t sleep. New York City is spectacular 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. There are beautiful sights and incredible stories everywhere you turn, and we see them every day at Skyline Cruises. But there’s something about New York City and the Island of Manhattan at night. Just ask anyone who’s ever been on one of our dinner cruises. Seeing some of the most iconic structures in the world illuminated after dark is an unforgettable experience. Even if you’ve lived here all your life.
Skyline Makes Your Dinner Cruise Memorable
Our three-deck luxury yacht, the Skyline Princess does some of its best work after sunset. We give our guests for our dinner cruise, thrilling photo opportunities and everyone loves a picture of the Big Apple at night. Don’t believe us? NASA even snapped a photo from the International Space Station. And the Skyline Princess offers so much more than just a pretty view. We’re one of New York’s premier event venues. And we’ll host everything from family celebrations to corporate meetings. We offer gourmet food prepared by our in-house chefs and we’ll offer you choices of or d’œuvres, entrees and carving stations. Skyline has it all and we want to tell you why we’re so special at night.
Spectacular Night Sights in Manhattan and Elsewhere
The home port of the Skyline Princess is the World’s Fair Marina in Queens. There’s always free parking. The marina is in the shadows of Flushing Meadows Corona Park, the home of the 1939 and 1964 World’s Fair. We invite you to look around before you board. The symbol of the fair, the silver globe is known as the Unisphere is majestic at night. We’re also in the shadow of Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, and you can feel the electricity in the air on nights the Amazins play.
The Skyline Princess will cruise Flushing Bay and then the East River, where you will see the New York City skyline glowing in the night sky. At the center of it all is the Empire State Building. What color will it be? That depends on the night. The art deco skyscraper changes it’s lighting scheme to honor everything from team colors in celebration of area sports teams, to red, white and blue on national holidays. You’ll also see the glowing chrome of the Chrysler building and the reflection of the United Nations off the East River.
But it’s not just buildings that glow in the night. On the East River Cruise, you will see four dazzling suspension bridges The Brooklyn, Manhattan and Williamsburg Bridges which connect Manhattan and Brooklyn and the Robert F. Kennedy Triborough Bridge which connects three boroughs, Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx.
But the most famous light you’ll see on your journey will be Lady Liberty’s torch. According to the National Park Service, the Statue of Liberty’s torch is a symbol of enlightenment and lights the way to freedom showing us the path to liberty. Skyline will give you incredible views of Lady Liberty and the entire statue will be bathed in light. Trust us, it never gets old.
